Who is Akaoni?
Akaoni is Elijah E. Waterman.
He grew up in Iowa City, IA, but has lived
in Albuquerque, NM, Seattle, WA, and
Nagoya, Japan. Akaoni currently lives in Iowa City with his girlfriend
and Shovel the cat.
He studied East Asian Studies at the University of Iowa focusing on Japanese language and culture.
Akaoni likes to describe his politics as a progressive, common sense, civil libertarianism. Issues important to Akaoni are civil rights and social justice, world development and poverty eradication, and the reduction in unethical and amoral Big Corporate influence over United States and World society and politics.
Other interests include, Science Fiction film and fiction, Sumo and Sport, and Good Food, Good Beer and Good Wine.
Akaoni currently works as a Research Assistant in Psychiatry at the University of Iowa.
To know yet to think that one does
not know is best;
Not to know yet to think that one knows will lead to difficulty.
It is by being alive to difficulty
